Offer Holder day

Our Offer Holder Days are invitation only events designed to help you find out more about Queen Mary University of London. You will hear from current students and meet the lecturers who will be teaching you in September, as well as staff from our student support services such as accommodation, student finance and careers.

This event will give you the opportunity to experience what it is like to study at Queen Mary, and will give you a chance to take a tour of our excellent teaching facilities and our beautiful campus and accommodation in Mile End.

A full programme of exciting activities will be sent to you before the event so you can see what you have to look forward to. We hope that this event will help you make an informed choice on where to study.

Frequently asked questions

What’s the difference between an Open Day and an Offer Holder Day?

The Open Days were more about an introduction to the university and getting a feel for the different courses and services we offer. With thousands of people on campus, you would have only scratched the surface of what we have to offer.

The Offer Holder Days give you more quality time with our staff so you can ask more detailed questions to our academics, staff and students. You will also get an opportunity to spend more time with your department and take part in taster sessions and get a real feel for the course.  It’s also a great opportunity to meet people that will be on your course so you might even strike up friendships before you start!

It also allows you to revisit key areas of consideration in regards to what's most important for you when deciding where to study. You may want to get more detailed answers or see something again to help you make your final choice.

What should I bring?

Please bring a printed copy of your booking confirmation email or the confirmation on your smartphoneso that we can scan the ticket. We also recommend wearing comfortable shoes and appropriate clothing for the weather.

Who can I bring?

We recommend that you bring someone along with you who will help you in your decision making process. It may be a member of your family or someone close but we understand that this is an important step in your life and that you’ll want that extra bit of support.

Please let us know on the booking form how many guests you will be bringing with you. Your guests will not require a separate ticket.

How do I get there?

Queen Mary is based in Mile End, the heart of east London, only minutes from central London. Transport links are fantastic, so you should have plenty of options when planning your journey.

The nearest stations on the London Underground are Mile End on Hammersmith and City, District and Central lines; and Stepney Green on the Hammersmith and City and District lines. Both stations are just 5 minutes' walk from our campus.

QMUL is based on Mile End Road, on the 25 and 205 bus routes, with a stop right outside the campus.

Visit the Transport for London (TFL) website to plan your journey: https://tfl.gov.uk/

Car parking for visitors is not offered on our campus. Local parking restrictions also apply on weekdays and weekends (please refer to Tower Hamlets website).

There are limited blue badge holder spaces available. Please contact the relevant subject department who sent you your invitation to check availability. Find out more about our Mile End campus.

What if I have special requirements?

If you have any special requirements, please notify us within the booking form or email the relevant academic department directly (see http://www.dongfangqiyuan.com/about/whoswho/departments).

Do I have to register for this event?

Yes, we encourage all offer holders to book a place and attend this event. We would also welcome you on the day if you had not originally planned to attend.

The invitation is also specific to you so please do not forward it to anyone else who may have also applied.

Where can I find schedule information for the day?

You will be contacted through email by your relevant subject department (or academic school) who will send you details about the programme for the day including how to check-in, start and finish times, activities on offer and more to help you make the most of your time with us. If you have not received your programme at least a week before the event, then please contact the relevant academic department directly (see http://www.dongfangqiyuan.com/about/whoswho/departments).

What if I can’t make it?

Don’t worry. We hold multiple Offer Holder Day events so hopefully you can attend one of them. If you aren’t able to make any of the dates, we won’t hold it against you! You can also book onto our campus tours or contact the relevant subject department about further events they’re hosting.

What if I have more questions?

If you need any further information then please contact the relevant academic department from whom you received your invitation directly.
