Support for students

We want you to make the most out of your time at Queen Mary and have the best student experience possible. From financial guidance to mentoring schemes, we offer lots of advice and support to help you navigate the different stages of student life and fulfil your potential.

While your academic performance is important, so is your health and happiness. Learn how we support students on all matters concerned with living well. This includes information about our Advice and Counselling Service, our Disability and Dyslexia Service and faith at QMUL.

From learning development workshops to student buddy schemes, we provide lots of support to help you make the transition to your new level of study. We also offer opportunities for you to enhance your degree, including the chance to study abroad or learn a new language.

Can’t get your head around Student Finance and how it all works? Our Welfare Advisers can help you with all things money related. They provide information on the Student Finance application process, tuition fees and living costs, bursaries and scholarships, and what to do if you are having financial difficulties.

Not only is it our goal to make sure you feel safe, happy and supported while you’re at Queen Mary, we also aim to prepare you for life when you graduate. Whether you need help finding work-experience, setting up your own business or want to learn more about postgraduate study, we can put you on the right path to fulfilling your future ambitions.

Queen Mary students can take advantage of our extensive library facilities. Our 24-hour Library in Mile End recently underwent a £1.5million refurbishment, providing even more study and computer spaces.

Medical and dental students can make use of the specialist medical libraries at Whitechapel and West Smithfield (site of Barts hospital). All our students have access to the University of London’s Senate House Library in Bloomsbury.

Our Student Enquiry Centre is here to assist you with specific queries you might have whilst studying with us. They provide information and guidance on student records, your finances, timetables and exams, official documents, immigration, discounted travel and much more.

Every school at Queen Mary University of London has a dedicated Student Support Contact who can offer advice on matters you feel may be impeding your ability to study.
