Certificate in Clinical Foundation Studies

Queen Mary University of London's Medical School offers a 1-year Certificate in Clinical Foundation Studies (CCFS). This Foundation Programme provides a basic introduction to Clinical Medicine and Dentistry as well as Biology, Maths, Physics and Chemistry tuition which is equivalent to A-levels, for those who do not already have A-level equivalents. Upon Successful Completion, students will be able to graduate with a Foundation Certificate (FDCert). Progression onto the MBBS Malta course will be possible for those who earn at least 120 credits and meet our other progression requirements. For more information, please see here.

Students who complete the CCFS will not be able to progress into the MBBS London programme due to the limitations on seats for International Students.  Progression to our MBBS Malta programme is possible for students who successfully complete the CCFS.


Eligibility and Entry Requirements

To be eligible for acceptance on to this programme you must:

  • Have achieved a 6.5 IELTS score with no less than 6.0 in the writing component.
  • Have achieved at least 2000 in the UKCAT ( before enrolling.
  • Be at least 17 years of age at the point of enrolment.
  • Have strong academic qualifications from High School.

Tuition Fees

Tuition fees for this programme are £18,100 for September 2019.

The supporting documents applicants need to sumbit are:

  • An official transcript or certificate of highest attained qualification
  • IELTS certificate
  • Photocopy of passport
  • Personal Statement

Applicants who are shortlisted will be interviewed for approximately 20 minutes. There will be a series of structured questions as part of the assessment and consideration of the personal statement and school reference. Those who are made an offer must be available to enrol on the programme in London in the middle of September.
