Queen Mary Global Policy Institute

The Queen Mary Global Policy Institute sets out to be the UK's pre-eminent research and impact unit focused on policy solutions worldwide.

Acting as a hub for policy-facing initiatives across the disciplines, our work supports a strong translational research agenda and enriches the student experience through dynamic opportunities for global interactivity and learning. We connect Queen Mary researchers with overseas policy-makers to address global grand challenges through a programme of visiting fellowships, bespoke executive education, policy briefs, strategic networking events and partnerships with a range of organisations.

Current projects and policy engagements

We deliver training for civil society leaders, policy-makers and ministers both overseas and in London, facilitating engagement between government, academia and industry where applicable.

We are actively engaged in a number of projects and policy engagements globally including:

Thailand - employment law training for Supreme Court Justices

Ukraine - the establishment of an Intellectual Property Law Court

India - Resilient Futures India Initiative (RFII) to build multilateral research and policy partnerships between India and the UK

Advisory Council

The Queen Mary Global Policy Institute Advisory Council is responsible for overseeing the strategic mission and direction of the GPI.  Drawing on a range of expertise brought by members from government, higher education, and the health and social care sectors, the Advisory Council meets three times per year.
