With QMUL being located in the heart of London, enhancing the biodiversity of our campuses can be a challenging feat. However, QMUL considers its impact on London’s biodiversity to be an important part of our operations that must be considered whilst exercising our functions. We aim to raise the profile and visibility of biodiversity as well as making it an integral part of policy and decision making at QMUL.
We recognise that biodiversity initiatives are an important element of our broader approach to sustainability and have multiple benefits including enhancing the health and emotional wellbeing of our students and staff. Biodiversity is included as part of our ISO14001 and 15001 Energy and Environmental Management System. Within the system we have a Biodiversity Policy outlining our commitment to enhancing biodiversity at QMUL.
